Mango Text
1
RISD Spring 2020
Advised by Richard Lipton
Advised by Richard Lipton
2
A serif text face with asymmetrical serifs and organic yet consistent forms, Mango lends a playful character to any body of text. Its tall x-height, rather wide characters, large counterforms and moderate contrast make it ideal for use at smaller sizes for both print and web
3
Some counter forms are particularly intriguing in how they suggest a subtle ressemblance to the shape of a mango (and hence, the name)
4
Currently a work in progress with 160 Latin glyphs and 7 Devanagari glyphs available in regular weight
5
Birthed during the mango season of 2020 (and a global pandemic), it was partly a tribute to home and partly a coping mechanism
