A space, a library for books, zines, resources, other ephemera that the graphic design community at RISD could contribute to as way of exchanging and sharing things that inspire us as graphic designers but that are not restricted to the field of graphic design.

Named the GD Uncommons to have a more informal and inclusive space than the official GD Commons

Identity plays with a rather “scrappy” visual language — adding an “Un” to the
identity of the Commons and using handwriting for the “Un” to allude to a rebellious and young energy and to also keep it flexible for others to design their own Uncommons version and eventually
build an archive of the various iterations (possibly in different languages and scripts as well)
